| Kingsley. The postal name for which is Paradise, is an enterprising and growing village on the
Traverse City branch of the G. R. & I. R. R., in the township of Paradise, Grand Traverse
County, 16 miles southwest of Traverse City, the seat of justice and the location of the nearest
bank. The surrounding country is being rapidly settled, and the manufacture of hardwood lumber
is becoming an important industry. The village already contains a broom factory, 2 saw-mills
and several stores, and has in course of erection a stave factory, a Methodist
Episcopal church and a hotel. The W. U. Telephone and the U. S. Exp. Companies have offices here.
