Lovias F. Ingersoll
Sutton's Bay, Leelanau County, Michigan and Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan
Surgeon and Physician, of Traverse City, was born in Orangeville, Wyoming County, NY, 1 March 1854.
He removed with his parents to Oakland County, Michigan in early youth. In 1874 he took the degree
of B. S. in the Agricultural College in Lansing. In 1880 he graduated in the medical department of
the Michigan University at Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1882 he took a special course in Bellevue
Hospital, New York. His first place of medical practice was Sutton's Bay, Leelanau County,
Michigan. He came to Traverse City in the fall of 1882, and has a growing and remunerative professional practice.
The
doctor's marriage was on 11 March 1875 to Miss Estelle F. Berry, daughter of Dr.
Berry, of Grand Ledge, Michigan. Their first born daughter, little Ethelyn
was taken from them by death in 1888. The doctor's only specialty in his
practice is general operative surgery.
